Ok, so maybe it’s not mine, but I’m on board as AD (Assistant Director for those who didn’t know – was that too posh?) as well as casting director and set designer (more like assistant set designer)! Pretty exciting stuff – but in order to make this happen we are calling on the public, friends and family to show their support and lend a helping hand in order to get the funds.

The Haunting in Connecticut… 2?

Really, a sequel to a supposed movie that was “based on a true story”? This film, also being touted as a true story, doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the first film. As a matter of fact, the full title of the film is The Haunting in Connecticut: Ghosts of Georgia. Last time I checked Connecticut and Georgia are two different states. I can only hope that this is a working title? Either way, does not look all that appealing. Seems like they are just using the original film’s title as a selling point to the masses, one of which I’m not buying.

New Man of Steel Trailer!

After having watched the teaser for Superman Returns, I was in awe and a tingly feeling throughout my body that resulted in goosebumps. However, the final verdict of that film was anything but pleasant. Like the new Star Wars Trilogy, I watched and re-watched on more than just two occasions to no avail. However, looking at this new trailer for the Man of Steel they may have gotten it right this time. Take a look at the trailer below:

The Tall Man International Poster and Trailer

A new poster and trailer has been released by way of France for the upcoming horror film The Secret, otherwise known as The Tall Man here in the states starring Jessica Biel. The trailer is in English, the text in the trailer is not. This one doesn’t sound too appealing to me and have a slight feeling that it may not be what it’s all cracked up to be. Still, I will reserve judgement until I see it.

I was always a fan of horror anthologies, whether it be in book form or in film form (see, Creepshow, Asylum, Trick r’ Treat, Tales From the Darkside, to name a few). Asian horror anthologies such as: Phobia, Phobia 2 & The Three Extremes films, are no exception. So, it is no wonder that I was excited to hear about the upcoming Korean horror film titled, Horror Stories. Take a look at some photos below and the trailer. Unfortunately, the trailer is not sub-titled leaving us to bask in the imagery alone.

RZA Releases Poster & Image for New Flick… Yes, I Said the RZA.

The RZA, of Wu-Tang Clan fame, has stepped away from music and has been busy, with the help of Eli Roth, writing and directing his upcoming kung-fu film The Man with the Iron Fists. Did I mention that Quentin Tarantino also has his hands in this project as well? Normally, I would probably scoff at such a picture but with name talent such as Roth, Tarantino, Lucy Liu, Russel Crowe, Jamie Chung, Pam Grier, Dave Bautista, RZA and more, there is little-to-no doubt that this movie is going to be wildly entertaining and won’t hold back any punches.

I’m reminded of a time in movies where the hero just knew what had to be done, plain and simple. None of this ‘Let me have my cake, blow away the bad guys, and eat it too’ philosophy.  Maybe it’s the cynical side of me, but movies of the past couple of decades have had that mentality, and almost all of them have the same thing in common: they’re not very good.  Face it, they’re fluff pieces, catered to those who thrive on happy, sappy endings. Kind of like the junk food of cinema. They’re good for the time being, but in the end it’s just forgettable.

Once upon a time, we were all three-foot terrors who, more likely than not, have been the cause of numerous bouts of depression and anxiety for our parents. Despite the horrors that we brought upon our parents, we were loved nonetheless – well, at least those of us who had the luxury of being brought up by mother and father (a luxury to some, a nightmare for others).
