Oh, how sick and tired I am of hearing about what’s potentially happening in Lost! Are they dead? In hell? Limbo? Who cares?! After six seasons of constant theories after each and every episode, I am beat and I am tired of hearing what one thinks is happening. The “why’s” and the “maybe’s” and the “or’s”. I no longer want to partake in discussions as such and just want to take it all in and embrace this final season. Sure, I still like to talk about it and discuss certain aspects of the show, however, I don’t want to theorize and take educated guesses based on things that happened four seasons ago!
Example: “Remember that shark with the Dharma Initiave logo on it? I think that means that those stranded on the island somehow traveled through a wormhole and are now living on a planet ruled by sharks, ala, Planet of the Apes!
If so, so what? Just a couple of more episodes and all the questions will be answered, on top of the questions they are forcing us to ask this season, a formula that needs to exist or it wouldn’t be Lost. Everything is unwinding and the end is near. I hope everyone is prepared to hear a slew of, “I knew it(s)!”, “I told you(s)!” and “That’s what I said(s)!”, even though said person/people have come up with nearly every possible theory during the six-year span that one of those theories was bound to be dead-on or very close.
Truth be told, the writers really need to deliver in the end where not one person could have possibly foretold what was happening and catch everyone off guard! Kind of like an M. Night Shyamalan movie, well, at least his first blockbuster movie. As long as it has nothing to do with aliens, then I will put this down right next to “The Sopranos” final episode and “Indiana Jones and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” (in which case served as entertaining yet stupid at the same time). I have faith in the writers that they will deliver, minus the third season which was right around where my interest started to fade a bit then was revitalized with the fourth season.
It’s funny how I have not heard many theories as to who might die before the season ends. Oh that’s right, because they’re already dead… right? Just ask Christian and Claire, who was said to be dead yet she seems alive to me and hell-bent on revenge for something! Oh that’s right, she’s mad because someone took her son off the island (after she was thought dead) to safety where he can grow up and live a normal life! Perfectly good reason to be upset!
Despite the massive cluster ef’s of plot twists, story-lines, questions, etc. this is truly a show that will, if it already hasn’t, go down in television history. It is one of few shows that I can truly say I will miss, despite the many years of pulling both teeth and hair!
