My newborn baby girl, so tiny and fragile in my arms, looked up to me with wide eyes as she struggled to comprehend the words that were coming out of my mouth. Despite her not having the slightest idea what I was saying to her, I spoke to her in hopes of garnering some sort of satisfactory reaction from her, to be specific, I tried my best to get her to smile to no avail. My attention, however, was diverted elsewhere as the room around me was changing. The lights dimmed and the room was engulfed in darkness save for the bright streaks of light that crept in through the tiny crevices in the walls and door frames. My baby shrieked as she did understand fear and horror.

What is the difference between Paranormal Activity 4 and the other three films in the series? Close to nothing. However, Paranormal Activity 4 takes home the award for being the worse in the series. What’s new in Paranormal Activity 4? Absolutely nothing.

Really, a sequel to a supposed movie that was “based on a true story”? This film, also being touted as a true story, doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the first film. As a matter of fact, the full title of the film is The Haunting in Connecticut: Ghosts of Georgia. Last time I checked Connecticut and Georgia are two different states. I can only hope that this is a working title? Either way, does not look all that appealing. Seems like they are just using the original film’s title as a selling point to the masses, one of which I’m not buying.

The leaked trailer for the Evil Dead was released not too long ago and generated some positive buzz (for the most part). I, for one, was not pleased with the announcement of the remake. However, that all changed when I saw the leaked trailer for the film. It looks like the filmmakers really upped the ante with this one and confidence has been restored. I am now on board with this film and can only hope that it will live up to the hype because judging from this trailer, it really looks bad-ass!

After having been heavily disappointed with the last installment in the franchise, Rec 3: Genesis (read my review here), we come to Rec 4: Apocalypse which, as I understand, will be the last film in the series. Although this teaser shows nothing but clips of the previous films, mostly (all) 1 & 2, I am holding out for a return to what made the franchise a success in the first place and an escape from what was/is Rec 3 (crosses fingers)!
Yep, like last year, the Northeast is once again hit with a pretty big storm just in time for my favorite time of the year, Halloween. Of course, my love for the “holiday” pales in comparison with the potential damage that this hurricane/tropical storm Sandy is capable of. And being that my ears have been glued to the television for a good part of the day, the damage is inevitable.

Halloween looms like so many ghouls in a graveyard! To get in the mood, fans of all things creepy and crawly curl up with some hot apple cider (Or tea. Or coffee. Or you get the idea.) and soak up some of literature’s most intense offerings. Horror piques something primitive, adrenaline-fueled, and visceral within us, and even the most pants-poopingly scary jawdropper keeps us begging for MORE, MORE, MORE! Here’s some of that more for you.
